Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.  Psalm 27:14

Most of us are familiar with Dr. Seuss.  I am reminded of this excerpt from one of his children’s books about arriving at “The Waiting Place”: “People are just waiting. Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or No, or waiting for their hair to grow. Waiting for the fish to bite, or waiting for wind to fly a kite, or waiting around for Friday night. Everyone is just waiting.” – OH, THE PLACES YOU’LL GO by Dr. Seuss

These words, perhaps, describe the situation we are in right now as a nation and world.  Everyone is just waiting!  We are waiting for the COVID-19 situation to improve so we can go back to the way things were before all this “waiting.”  No doubt our greatest concern should be to get this situation behind us for the sake of the health and well being of people.  And, we should continue to pray for those who are being adversely affected both physically and economically.  We should also continue to pray for our leaders and the health care professionals who are on the front lines of this battle.  However, for the rest of us who are “waiting” for the crisis to come to a conclusion, we should consider that there could be great value in waiting.  Here is a good question to think about, “What is the value of waiting?”  This may be a time to think about those things that God wants for us while we are waiting.  Are there sins that need repenting?  Are there any habits that need changing?  Are there things that could be added into your life that might be really good for you and for others?  I personally believe there can be great value in waiting.  It is not “useless” time.  God can teach us in times of waiting to depend more upon Him.  God can use times of waiting to draw us closer to Him.  God can use times of waiting to change what needs changing.  God can use times of waiting to prepare us for what He has planned for us.  God can prepare what He has planned for us while we are waitingGive this time of waiting to the Lord.  You might be surprised at what He will do!  My prayer is that God will use this time of waiting to bring our nation to spiritual awakening. Let’s continue to use our “waiting place” wisely in these days.  You will be glad that you did!  We are continuing our Live Stream Worship this week at 10:45AM.  Invite someone to join in.  God willing, we will soon be able to worship together!  As always, call me if I can help you with anything!
